Verifable is a product of Lumoin Oy. Lumoin is a Finnish limited company — that is what Oy means — with the VAT identifier FI28496474. Finland is a member state of the European Union, so the company, the contracts, and the obligations sit under EU law rather than beside it.

Lumoin builds Product Passports and Wallets from inside the European jurisdiction and standards community shaping them, close to the rules they must serve and the people who will use them.

Why Lumoin is building Verifable

Evidence for what people choose to build.

A circular economy grows from local choices about what to keep, repair, exchange and make next. We build open systems so knowledge can move between those places, remain attributable, and be adapted by the people who act on it.

Product Passports give things memory. Wallets give people and organisations agency. Veritas keeps evidence and possible futures inspectable, while open protocols let local loops participate in trade and wider economies with their context and authority intact.

Circular practice keeps products and materials in useful circulation. The wider regenerative ambition asks what those choices restore and enable for people, communities and ecosystems.

This direction is informed by the MyData Declaration’s human-centric principles and by local-first software principles: keep useful work and meaningful control near the person, and make remote authority visible when issuance, status, approval or co-signature depends on it.

Data, and where it lives

Personal data is processed under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, with an EU establishment and an EU supervisory authority behind that — not an adequacy argument reached across an ocean. The intent is plain: keep the data in the European Union, and keep the infrastructure choices consistent with that.

The deployment configuration in this repository provisions its origin server in Helsinki, Finland. The commitment that binds — the processing terms, the subprocessor list, the regions of record — belongs in a data processing agreement rather than in a paragraph on a page, and is available on request at hello@lumoin.com.

Open source

The protocol and cryptographic libraries are open source under Apache-2.0, where the routines can be read by the people being asked to trust them. The native Wallet and Veritas repositories are the next public additions to that same open foundation.

The Apache-2.0 grant covers the code. The Verifable name, the logo, and the domains are Lumoin Oy trademarks and are not licensed with it — the wallet repository's TRADEMARK.md says exactly where that line falls, so a fork can know what it may and may not call itself.

Standards work is only credible when the implementation is inspectable. These are the documents that describe this system without anyone reading a marketing page.

Standards participation

Help write the choreography. Then implement it.

Lumoin has participated in European Digital Product Passport standardisation through Finland's SFS/SR 229 group, contributing to work connected with CEN-CLC/JTC 24, Digital Product Passport — Framework and System. This is one part of Lumoin's wider standards activity.

Participation brings implementation experience into shared drafting—and the resulting standards back into software. It is not committee ownership, product certification or an endorsement.
